Remember the Bubble?

Update:
Yes I'm finally explaining what happened. I haven't been able to type since the 4th (well only 1 hand) and still no writing. Work has been interesting without the use of my right hand.

So let me tell you a little tale of my inability to keep my balance. I went up to Ventura on the 4th to spend the weekend with the Mymans at their beach house. When I arrived Matt and Catherine (and Lucy) were heading to Matt's dad's brand spanking new beach house in Oxnard. They graciously invited me along. When we arrived we met them in front of the house and made introductions. Their lot was still entirely sand and dirt becuase they hadn't finished construction. We were standing on their neighbor's driveway/curb saying hello. I introduced myself and stepped back so everyone could say hello to little Lucy. The driveway/curb was sandy and my flip flop slipped out from under me and try as I might I couldn't get my balance. I very smartly put my right hand back to catch me. As I laid there on the ground, in my white pants, on my back I was so embarrassed and in so much pain. Matt had to help me up. I said something to the effect of, "shouldn't have had that last margarita". Matt's step mom was like oh - you've been drinking? - which would be some explanation for this odd girl who just fell over. I couldn't lie to them and admitted that I had not been drinking at all nor was I under the influence of any mind alerting substances. I just need a bubble.

After the fall we took a tour of the house, of the gorgeous house, of the very large house. The pain was pretty bad and I had a feeling this wasn't just a bruise so as the party went to the beach I called Dr.Dad. Dr. Dad had me poke and prod and bend things that did not want to be poked/proded/bent for about 20 minutes. I will admit that towards the end the pain finally overcame me and I broke down. I was instructed to ice for 20 minutes and if it was still swelling go to the ER. So I iced for 20 minutes and sure enough still swelling. We were on our way back to Ventura at this point so I called Debbie (Cath's mom) and asked for the address of an ER. Keep in mind they've graciously invited me for the weekend and I've only been there an hour.

ER said it was probably sprained but time would tell it wasn;t. That's how it happened.

I'm ordering one tomorrow. This is the photo from Friday:

Did you know you actually can get a bubble? I found a place on the Internet! It says it's pefect to use in your home or office in instances of biological warfare. It also protects against radioactive fallout. Hell yeah! Check out the website below for more pictures.
