As kids we wore the mandatory helmets before it was a legal requirement. It sucked but we did it.
Dad decided we needed another safety measure due to the height of kids bikes.
Yup those flags are probably 10 feet tall and we had them on our bikes our entire childhood. Not exactly cool.

hahahahaha so cute!!!! love the flags on the bikes!! i'd be afraid they'd knock you over! my parents were all about safety too which is why i refused to get rollerblades... helmets and all the pads were requirements and i said heck no so i got no rollerblades and to this day have no idea how to rollerblade (tried it once or twice and royally sucked many many years ago!!)
