This year we had more eggs than normal. How I'm unsure. It seems that we had about $40 in quarters left over because Dad just said enough. Because we had so many more eggs this year the lawn looked like it had paint splattered all over it. I wish I had a photo because there were a lot. Allison came up to me before the big raise and whispered (or her version of whispering) that she wanted to help me hunt because she saw where some where. Hot cute is she? I graciously accepted her offer knowing full well that she would slow me down but not really caring.
So everyone received their bags (Blake and Natalie brought their own this year because of rippage problems last year) and Mom set us off. Allison got SO excited and would grab four a time before she found me. She kept yelling "Aunt Sarah I found some!". I did lose her and had to go find her.
Towards the end when most of the eggs had been found I looked across the yard and saw Mom putting out new ones. No one else had noticed yet so I walked as quickly as I could without being noticed. As I got close to her I came around a corner and noticed the 2 other hunters were stalking the prey (Mom and new eggs) all 3 of us sprinted forwards. This of course brought the attention of other hunters so Mom was throwing eggs on the ground as 6 people tried to grab them. Quite the amusing scene.
In the end Lisa won - hands down - close to 200 eggs and $50 in quarters. WTF right? Allison and I got 120 eggs and $30 in quarters.

i bet 50 bucks of quarters is pretty heavy to carry around!! holy crap! our egg hunts only ever had pennies or candy. which i loooooved the candy!!
ReplyDeletedid you give $15 to miss alison?????
ReplyDeleteheck no i didn't share with her. i thought about it but her mom shared her money with her.
ReplyDeleteshe doesn't have to do laundry with those quarters.
and i get her presents all the time.
and i'm justifying myself way too much.
dude. the little girl must love you a ton. i think you should mail her a check when she's older with a long explanation of how you've felt guilty all these years. or just a bucket with $15 worth of quarters. or maybe whatever is equivalent to the ratio of her size to yours (or age, or shoe size, or something). maybe add a few cents for inflation
