I think most people know what my Mom does, or have an idea of what she does. Basically she's in charge of all public health resources for the state of California in case of bio terrorist act or natural disaster. She is excellent at what she does. The state has repeatedly moved her into departments that need organizing and cleaning up and this is no exception.
The Governor and state (because really who does the work???) have received accolades for the excellent handling of the fires this week. The obvious comparison has been to Katrina. In comparison it looked like evacuees were given four star treatment. I guess the feds are upset because they weren't used enough. In other words they didn't in on the good press.
So this is just big ol' shout out to my Mom. She works very hard and it's good to see her hard work pay off.
