Easter Prep

I know it's been weeks since Easter but I've just been so very very busy. Anyways here is the first post about Easter...

John John and I arrived in Sacramento after our fun filled drive (or we tortured each other the whole way). We arrived at almost the exact time my Dad returned from the airport with Natalie and Blake. As we entered the house we found a nice little list of tasks to be done by the time Mom got home. What do you do when Betsey Lyman gives you a list of items she needs done? You do it!

I was kind enough to give John the tasks I didn't want to do (wipe dead bugs off outside lamps). If you don't know John then you might not know what a hard worker he is. If you give him a list he just goes to it and doesn't stop until it's finished. He swept the back porches, cleaned all the outside lights of bugs, and retrieved all the outdoor furniture. Meanwhile I acted as social coordinator and called Julie Long (Bill's sister) to join us, then called Lisa to find out how I could retrieve the girls. I successfully coordinated nap time with Grandma pick up time and started on my list of items, set Julie and Natalie up for girl chat time, and delegated tasks to the boys. I was quite the task master (patting myself on the back now).

The girls (Anna and Allison) arrived that afternoon to dye eggs. My oh my where they ever cute!!! Little Allison was quite excited to see me (and everyone else) but Anna was not too interested in us. We set to dying 2 dozen eggs with the girls. We had a few mishaps with cracked eggs and one or two fighs over colors (my green! no my green!!!).

Boiling eggs - would you believe we looked up the recipe for eggs in 3 cook books and still had to call Natalie's Mom! This is why I don't cook.

At some point Aunt Mary arrived for her visit and then left again (it was a bit crazy). We eventually sent everyone home and met Mom at Piatti's for dinner. Of course we bumped into neighbors at Piatti and had a brief catch up conversation.

Neighbor: Oh where are you living now Sarah/Blake?
Sarah/Blake: I live in X city right now.
Neighbor: How wonderful, are you working?
Sarah/Blake: Yes, I have a great job doing X and am very happy. How are you? How is your child/husband/dog/cat?
Neighbor: Oh how kind of you to ask. They're doing quite well... (long story about said child/husband/animal we once knew).

Then a convo with Mom/Dad and we part ways.
