My Very First Dodger Game

Some of you know my love of all sports and my sports knowledge. Most people are amazed by my broad knowledge of all sporting related facts. It's second only to my knowledge of pop culture (movies, music, tv, etc) prior to 1995. This weekend I had the opportunity to experience my very first Dodger team.

The Dodgers are my favorite team, my second favorite team are the Giants. This weekend I was given amazing tickets to see the Dodgers and it was awesome! I learned all kinds of new things. The first thing I learned was that a Grand Slam is different from a Home Run. I always thought a Grand Slam was like a really good Home Run. Now I know it's when you get a home run with the bases loaded. Who knew?! I saw this happen in the first inning and I saw the Dodgers "Bat Around" in the first inning. I don't think that's a cool enough name for what they did but until I come up with a better one we'll stick with it. The other interesting thing (I can't say this was cool because it would be cruel) was that the umpire was knocked out by a ball! Flat on his ass by a ball that flew off the catcher's glove. Crazy!

I should point out that our tickets were 2nd row behind the visiting team's dug out. Amazing seats to watch all the cute ball players. We even had our own server who brought us margaritas and nachos. Could not ask for a better experience.
