Mexico City Update

I`m being timed on this odd odd keyboard so bear with the typing, please. Turns out my camera died sometime between the last time I used it and this trip. It hasn{t actually died but it stopped performing its primary focus, taking photos. Instead it only wants to take videos. I was talked out of taking my large camera on the trip so I{m a little annoyed. Luckily Dad and Blake are kind enough to let me take photos on their cameras.

So updates...

We arrived Saturday in Mexico City. We{re staying right across the street from the Zocalo and enjoying all its culture (or tourist traps). Upon entering the Zocalo our cab driver, who spoke limited English, explained that there was a ¨revolution of the home, with cement¨going on in the square. What this mean we had no idea but as Blake and I walked the Zocalo that night we came across a cement truck. Could there have been some validity in this bizarre statement??

Sunday we went to the Archeology Museum which was truly stunning. There was far too much for us to see and most of it was far too boring - I{m sorry but I don}t speak or read spanish and there were thousands of sculptures and ruins and artifacts.

Hmmm the other stuff seems boring without photos - damn camera!

Yesterday we hit Teotihuacan which was an entire day}s journey. It was truly amazing. Blake and I climbed both the temple of the sun and the temple of the moon. With the alititude at around 7,000 feet and all those stairs I totally got my cardio in.

I think I{m being kicked off the computer. I}ve been here 3 1/2 days and I{m not quite fluent - but close.

Tomorrow is Guatemala and 5 places in 5 days. I doubt I{ll be able to type up an update.

  1. ojala que tengas un bien tiempo! (Um..I think this is the subjunctive? It has been so long that I am really only able to speak in the present tense in spanish...)
