Update: Well I called Dad to let him know that a. Mom should know there's an earthquake in case she needs to get to work b. I'm fine. He was having dinner at
Piatti and told our waiter there had been an earthquake. The waiter immediately called his friends in Venice and word spread through the restaurant like wildfire. When Mom walked in (she was on her way from work) everyone knew she had emergency info and started hounding her for details on the big earthquake. Apparently my phone call to Dad set all this off. Woops. The folks in Venice had the same reaction I had "It felt like an car hit our home. We've never felt an earthquake like this before." Never a dull moment here is there?
Just felt quite the severe jolt. It appears to be a
small one but right here in Santa Monica. All the neighbors ran outside in fright. I reminded them to turn off their gas fireplaces :) We're all fine though and it looks like quite a little one for all the shaking it caused.
It took me a second to realize but it was much bigger than the one last time!
ReplyDeletewoah, glad you're all ok!
