Tuesday November 27th The Hallmark Channel invited our office to a holiday event. I was thinking it would be a standard event with cocktails and appetizers. Boy was I wrong.
It was held at Bras Cap in Santa Monica being a non-foodie I'd never heard of this place before. It was in the uber swanky part of Santa Monica just off PCH on the way to Malibu. The restaurant was non descript from the street and walking in you go through a hallway that was equally non descript. All of a sudden you walk through a velvet curtain into this beautiful little restaurant.
When we arrived I noticed that the main dining room was filled with one long table set for... us (the entire party). Everyone was drinking sparkling wine. Turned out it was a 4 course meal complete with wine tasting by LearnAboutWine.com. I had planned to stay for a small glass of wine and then head straight to the gym. Unfortunately I got sight of the menu and was forced to stay for a little while. I stayed for the duck raviolio, roasted vegetable salad with goat cheese and beef bourguignon but left before the chocolate dessert. I left to hit the gym!
This google search thing is freaking me out.
