The Sky is Falling

Last night I was sitting in my office diligently working away on very important media buying issues. I noticed that there was a spot of water on the floor. I thought I'd spilled my water bringing it back as that wouldn't be too out of the norm. I got up to take care of other super important media issues and noticed more water on the floor. I looked up and saw that the ceiling was leaking. Uh oh. I notified our office handywoman since she takes care of everything for us. I dutifuly put a trash can under the leak to collect water and not ruin the floor. About five minutes later, as I was having a super important discussion with a coworker, the ceiling started falling. Yes falling. Large chunks of white nastiness (probably asbestos) started falling to the floor. Apparently the building management wanted to know if the white nastiness had fallen ON anyone yet. Since it hadn't falled ON anyone yet the problem could wait until morning. Well... two more spots started leaking. We poked out one part of the ceiling that was about to come crashing down upon us and water started pouring out of the ceiling. Ummmm gross! Yeah so the building people said it wasn't important while water is streaming out of the ceiling. It's well after business hours but no one seems to care. The cleaning people came in and noticed the gaping holes, the water pouring out and the crap all over the floor. They called the building and the building said... they'd come take care of it in the morning. Really people???

This morning the ceiling is gone and I'm staring at the air conditioning unit. I was able to rescue the Matisse I had pinned to the wall (I'm classy like that) and most of my other super important media belongings. They're coming this afternoon to fix it. That's right. It will be about 20-24 hours since it started once they actually fix it. There's a lot of love for the building people right now.

It's a 3 story building and I'm on the second floor. I'm south facing so I can see the flight path of LAX and if these damn trees weren't in the way probably a big of ocean.

I'll try again with the photos.
